Book during August or September and travel anytime from October to April. Travel from Deloraine to Cradle Mountain and return from Lake St Clair, with free luggage storage and a complimentary 230g hiking gas canister included.
Reach Deloraine on a free Kinetic coach from Hobart, Launceston or Devonport, or drive and leave your car in Deloraine while you walk. You can also park at Lake St Clair and stay overnight in Deloraine before starting your adventure.
Enjoy breakfast at a local café or bakery, then take our early shuttle to Cradle Mountain, arriving as the Visitor Centre opens. After completing the track, depart Lake St Clair at 2.00 pm and arrive in Deloraine at approximately 3.45 pm—in time for a free Kinetic coach to Launceston or Hobart. Alternatively, stay another night and travel the following morning.

Connect from Launceston or Hobart for Free
Free Kinetic coaches connect Deloraine with Launceston and Hobart. Services must be booked in advance. From Monday to Friday, coaches leave Launceston at 9.00 am, 1.15 pm and 5.55 pm. Weekend departures are approximately 1.00 pm and 5.45 pm. From Hobart, weekday services depart at 6.00 am, 10.00 am and 2.30 pm. Weekend departures are 9.30 am and 2.35 pm.
After your walk, coaches leave Deloraine for Launceston and onward connections to Hobart at 4.48 pm Monday to Friday and 4.23 pm on weekends. Our shuttle arrives at 3.45 pm, leaving time to collect your luggage and enjoy refreshments.
If you do not wish to use the free bus we do have a shuttle from Launceston to Deloraine and we can pick up from the airport and is bookable here.
Leave Your Car in Deloraine
Drive to Deloraine, stay overnight and leave your car there while you walk. Street parking is generally available, or parking may be arranged with your accommodation or Deloraine Apex Caravan Park.
After finishing at Lake St Clair, we return you directly to your car in Deloraine.
Finish at Your Car at Lake St Clair
Leave your car at Lake St Clair and travel with us to Deloraine for the night. Take our early shuttle to Cradle Mountain the following morning and begin your walk.
When you finish at Lake St Clair, your car will already be waiting, allowing you to continue your journey immediately.
Stay, Eat and Prepare in Deloraine
Spend the night in Deloraine, recognised as Tasmania’s Top Tourism Town for 2026.
The town has Woolworths for last-minute supplies, along with cafés, bakeries, restaurants, pubs and affordable accommodation. Stay at the Deloraine Hotel, Empire Hotel or Bush Inn Hotel, or pitch your tent beside the Meander River at Deloraine Apex Caravan Park.
Enjoy an evening walk beside the river, where you may spot a wild platypus. In the morning, Deloraine’s early-opening cafés and bakeries provide the perfect breakfast before your Overland Track adventure begins.
